Mapez can present, from table to table, his magic "close up". With grace, elegance and humor he entertains guests during breaks between the various courses, astonishing them with fascinating illusions and engaging effects.

Magic at close range, known as "Close-Up Magic", is much in demand and appreciated, as people love the fact that they see the magic LIVE without TV special effects. This kind of magic finds its maximum expression when it is presented, directly at the tables of spectators. The performance is in close contact with the people who actively take part as the magic happens also in their hands, thus experiencing the unique experience of "living the illusion"!

Offering this type of show is also an excellent "ice breaker" that encourages conversation; after the performance in fact, often guests talk about what they just witnessed. Close-Up Magic can be performed anywhere, at any time and without need of amplification system, so it will not disturb those who may not be interested at the time, and want to talk in peace. Non-bulky apparatus is used, just items such as playing cards, ropes, coins, rings, balls, rubber bands and even objects borrowed from the spectators. Furthermore, Mapez can cheer up the guests who, due to an unexpected event, receive a slow service, thus distracting them from the delay; therefore, magic does not disturb the work of the dining room staff, indeed it can facilitate it.

During occasions where people are mainly standing, for example during aperitifs, this show is the alternative to Table Hopping Magic. Mapez performs his incredible illusions close up, while walking among the various groups of people standing, enchanting and entertaining the guests.

This is a combination that is always a great success: guests are entertained first with the Table Hopping Magic and to follow, all together as if they were in a theater, they attend a short version of the Magic Parlor Show with which Mapez ends his artistic performance. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

If required Mapez can supply an audio system (amplified loudspeaker and radio-microphone), for which a connection to an electric socket near the performing area will be needed.

As for the Magic Parlor Show it is highly advisable to arrange before with Mapez the best position and the moment in which he will perform (in the context of a lunch/dinner it will be better if the show takes place at the end of the table service, so as to avoid the performance from being disturbed). The assigned position must allow a good freedom of movement for Mapez, and have the right proximity to the audience, to create direct contact that will facilitate the involvement of the spectators.

OPTIONAL

Mapez can set up an elegant scenographic backdrop: it is self-supporting, can be assembled in 5 minutes, is made with a fire-proof fabric and is suited for indoor events. The backdrop requires an optimal space of 3 meters (l) x 2.3 (h) x 2 (w), but can easily adapt to smaller environments. This "extra" embellishes the performing area giving the reception a touch of theatricality and a special atmosphere. Instantly it will transform the room, making it look like a small theater.
